A 10-year-old youngster has died following an all-terrain automobile (ATV) crash in rural Nova Scotia.

In a launch, police mentioned they situated the kid, who was visiting the Canaan, N.S., space with their household, deceased at about 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.

“The ATV the child was driving was found in a ditch along Plymouth Gentian Road in Gavelton,” police mentioned.

At about 11:25 p.m. on Saturday night, Yarmouth Rural RCMP mentioned they responded to a lacking youngster report, after being notified {that a} youngster had left a residence earlier within the night for an ATV experience and hadn’t returned.

Police mentioned an investigation, assisted by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service, is ongoing.

“Our thoughts are with the child’s family at this difficult time,” police mentioned.
