Worker dead in apparent drowning at Birchcliff Energy site in Alberta | CityNews Calgary

Birchcliff Energy Ltd. says a contractor has been killed on the job at one of many firm’s websites in northern Alberta.

The Calgary-based oil and gasoline firm says the incident occurred at considered one of its water storage pits situated south of Bay Tree, Alta.

Birchcliff says emergency response crews responded to the scene Tuesday night.

The firm says it seems the contractor could have drowned, although it provides the incident remains to be being investigated.

Birchcliff says the contractor’s household has been notified.

The contractor’s title has not been launched.
