Telus offering buyouts after investing in customer service tech, self-serve options
VANCOUVER –
Telus says it is providing buyouts to a big group of staff and anticipates a number of hundred employees will take them.
The Vancouver-based telecommunications firm says in a press release that the buyouts come on account of vital investments it is made in customer support expertise and self-serve choices for patrons.
Spokeswoman Brandi Merker says the corporate provided the package deal to a big group of staff with a view to be honest and equitable.
She says the corporate has the correct to restrict what number of buyout packages are taken.
According to Telus’ annual report, the corporate had 108,500 energetic staff in 2022.
The annual report says that modifications in buyer preferences stemming partly from the pandemic led to a significant acceleration of Telus’ digital transformation and of self-serve choices for patrons.
This report by The Canadian Press was first revealed May 18, 2023.
