Flair Airlines to announce new base of operations in Calgary


Ultra low-cost provider Flair Airlines will probably be saying particulars about its new base of operations in Calgary on Tuesday.


The firm’s CEO Stephen Jones is predicted to make the announcement on the Calgary International Airport at 10 a.m.


“A base of operations is a significant investment of resources and personnel, and signals Flair Airlines continued growth in Canada, based on its ultra-low fare and cost model,” officers stated in a launch.


Flair launched in 2017 and has had its share of challenges over time.


Four of the provider’s planes have been seized in March due to overdue funds. Those seizures had a cascading have an effect on on Flair’s providers, leading to widespread cancellations and delays for passengers.


The Edmonton-headquartered firm says the motion was “unlawful” and launched a $50-million lawsuit in opposition to a number of plane-leasing firms.


Flair says it didn’t obtain ample discover of the seizures, so it couldn’t alert or rebooking prospects when the planes have been seized “in the middle of the night.”


None of the allegations in Flair’s lawsuit have been examined in courtroom.
