Red Sox's Nick Pivetta placed on 15-day IL with elbow strain

Boston Red Sox righty Nick Pivetta has been positioned on the 15-day injured checklist with a proper elbow flexor pressure, the crew introduced on Tuesday.

His placement on the IL is retroactive to April 6.

In a corresponding transfer, Boston has recalled lefty pitcher Brennan Bernardino for triple-A Worcester.
