Global Affairs Canada’s programs have been compromised in a information breach, affecting Virtual Private Network (VPN) site visitors on the headquarters community, Global News has learnt.
An inner message despatched to GAC workers, seen by Global News, stated steps are at present being taken to guard delicate worker data and community safety.
“We continue to take several steps to protect employee’s personal information and safeguard our corporate networks following the discovery that Virtual Private Network (VPN) managed by Shared Services Canada (SSC) was compromised and used to access Global Affairs Canada (GAC) HQ VPN-related network traffic,” the interior message learn.
GAC has requested workers to “pay close attention to all broadcast messages on this topic, ensure that all steps are followed.”
