Air Transat flight attendants reject tentative contract deal

Flight attendants at Air Transat have voted to reject a tentative take care of the Canadian leisure service.

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), which represents the two,100 flight attendants on the airline, says greater than 98 per cent of employees voted towards the tentative contract reached Dec. 14.

The union says it will likely be again on the bargaining desk with Transat later this week.

In November, Air Transat flight attendants voted to approve a strike mandate if a brand new contract can’t be reached.

But CUPE says there’s presently no timetable for a strike.

The collective settlement for Air Transat’s flight attendants based mostly at airports in Montreal and Toronto expired on Oct. 31, 2022.
