The Nova Scotia authorities has introduced a brand new provincial wilderness space in Guysborough County.
Agriculture Minister Greg Morrow stated right now that the Archibald Lake Wilderness Area covers practically 700 hectares of old-growth forest, lakes and wetland.
He says practically 300 hectares of the protected space is outdated hardwood forest.
The new wilderness space will embrace Archibald Lake, in addition to McDonald and Rocky Lake, which feed into Archibald Brook, a tributary of St. Mary’s River.
The space is house to many species, together with brook trout, Atlantic salmon, and the endangered mainland moose.
The space can also be a preferred spot for searching and fishing, that are each allowed in wilderness areas.
