Blue Jays add Schneider, Jackson for series vs. Red Sox; option Clement and DFA Hatch
The Toronto Blue Jays have activated second baseman Davis Schneider forward of their weekend sequence with the Boston Red Sox.
Toronto couldn’t activate Schneider for a significant league sport till he was added to the 40-man roster. To make room, right-handed pitcher Thomas Hatch has been designated for task.
The Blue Jays additionally reinstated reliever Jay Jackson from the household medical emergency record and can be energetic for tonight’s sport. To make room for Jackson, infielder Ernie Clement has been optioned to Triple-A Buffalo.

Schneider, 24, is slashing .275/.416/.553 with 21 dwelling runs and 64 RBIs with the Buffalo Bisons this season. He is the Blue Jays’ Twenty eighth-ranked prospect in line with MLB Pipeline.
The five-foot-nine second baseman was drafted by the Blue Jays within the Twenty eighth spherical of the 2017 MLB Draft out of Eastern High School.
Schneider will be a part of a Blue Jays workforce that’s struggling offensively as of late. The Blue Jays are coming off a seven-game homestand in opposition to the Angels and Orioles during which they scored simply 22 runs and completed with a 3-4 file.
