Fatal collision closes highway south of Calgary – Calgary | 24CA News

A deadly collision has closed a part of a significant freeway south of Calgary.

RCMP are on the scene of the crash at Highway 2 and 338th Avenue, northeast of Okotoks, Alta.

An AHS EMS official mentioned they obtained a name at round 3:30 p.m. to the collision.

When paramedics arrived, one individual was declared lifeless on the scene.

A 36-year-old girl was transported to hospital by way of STARS Air Ambulance in life-threatening situation and a floor ambulance transported a 3rd individual to hospital in non-life threatening situation.

All three had been adults, however EMS was unable to offer additional particulars.

RCMP mentioned there have been others with minor accidents.

Northbound visitors is being diverted onto sixty fourth Street.

Police anticipate being on the scene for a number of hours whereas emergency crews and investigators work.
