The search is ongoing for a Ukrainian refugee who went lacking Wednesday night after swimming in a Quebec river.
Quebec provincial police say the person in his early 20s went into the Etchemin River close to St-Anselme, Que., southeast of Quebec City, and rescue groups are working to seek out him through dive groups and a helicopter surveying the water and river banks.
The Sûreté du Québec officers say that as a result of sturdy water currents, the divers have had a tough time within the water and have needed to droop a few of their searches.
Authorities say the younger man’s mom known as police about her son after he went lacking on Wednesday.
The Quebec chapter of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress says the person is 21 years previous and has a mom and two brothers additionally in Canada.
