Blue Jays’ Gausman scratched with left side discomfort, Bassitt to start in place
Toronto Blue Jays ace Kevin Gausman might be scratched from his begin on Saturday towards the Arizona Diamondbacks with left facet discomfort.
According to the group, an MRI “showed no concerns”and Gausman is described as day-to-day, Sportsnet’s Ben Nicholson-Smith reviews.

With Gausman unable to pitch, Chris Bassitt will begin in his place towards Arizona’s Zac Gallen.
This would have been Gausman’s first begin out of the All-Star break, which the pitcher opted to not play in with a view to get relaxation and spend time with household.
The 32-year-old right-hander has had a unbelievable first half of the season for the Blue Jays, as he leads the American League in strikeouts with 153. He has a 7-5 general report with a 3.03 ERA.
