Plea for help scrawled on tent as dog zipped up inside | 24CA News

An animal rescue group in London, Ont., is in search of the proprietor of a canine that was left inside a zipped-up tent within the woods within the east finish of town.

Bark on the Moon Animal Rescue founder, Shelby Tilley acquired a name on Saturday, after three individuals mountain climbing close to Pottersburg Dog Park found the tent with the phrases ‘Help. There’s a canine left right here,’ scrawled on the aspect with blue spray paint.

The discovered a black and brown, mild-mannered canine inside.

“It was very clear that nobody had been there for a couple of days,” stated Tilley. “There was pee and poop around the inside of the tent.”

There was a water bowl. It was brown and really murky.”

Tilley took the dog and left a note with her phone number inside the tent and has been trying to track down the owner.

“I began reaching out to native shelters — just about anyplace that I might consider to attempt to get ahold of the house owners, simply to allow them to know that their canine was secure,” said Tilley. She’s also been posting photos of the dog on various local Facebook groups.

A trip to the vet revealed the dog is underweight, likely around two years old and not micro-chipped, she said.

“It will not be possible they left the canine behind as a result of they wished to essentially,” said Tilley. “They might have been hospitalized. Something might have occurred.”

“The ministry can affirm that Animal Welfare Services is conducting an investigation into this matter,” said Ministry of the Solicitor General spokesperson, Brent Ross. “Given the continuing investigation, the ministry is not going to be commenting additional.”

In cases such as this though, the ministry considers whether the standards of care under the PAWS Act are being met, he said.

Pets provide love and support for those sleeping rough

“Many younger individuals made it clear to us [that the] pets they’ve once they slept tough had been their most trusted companions,” said Steve Cordes, executive director of the social services organization, Youth Opportunities Unlimited (YOU) which opened a shelter for young people and their pets two years ago, and offers regular veterinarian visits.

“(The pets) had been sources of affection, help, consolation and sense of security when these of us had been feeling their most remoted, least secure and least hopeful,” he stated.

Tilley doesn’t know the name of the dog but on the advice of the three people who first found him, she’s calling him Tank because he “pulls like a tank.”

“I might love nothing greater than to have the ability to help (the canine’s) household in a approach that each of them might be blissful and wholesome and secure,” said Tilley, who added she’d keep the dog through the cold winter months or provide food for the dog.

“I form of simply need to have the ability to have that dialog with them and see how I can help them.”

But for now, Tilley is paying to keep Tank at a boarding facility.
