Busy Saskatoon intersection getting new safety upgrades – Saskatoon | 24CA News

One of Saskatoon’s busiest intersections will probably be receiving a pedestrian crosswalk facelift this summer season.

A brand new, extra seen crossing will probably be put in after an $80,000 grant from the provincial authorities.

The of twenty second Street West and Avenue V, close to McDonald’s and Yanz Liquor Store, will probably be receiving a brand new, extra seen crossing.


A busy pedestrian crossing on a high traffic Saskatoon roadway is getting a facelift.The intersection of twenty second Street West and Avenue V will obtain the security enhancements.

“Right now, there are no pavement markings or illuminated signals to alert drivers of pedestrians crossing at this high-traffic location,” Transportation Director Jay Magus stated in a news launch.

The grant will cowl the price of new pavement markings and signage and the set up of a push-button cease mild for the crosswalk.

Once the work is accomplished within the fall, drivers must cease on the crimson sign. The metropolis expects the transfer will make the road safer to stroll.
