Cardinals place Adam Wainwright, Andrew Knizner on injured list
MIAMI — The St. Louis Cardinals positioned right-hander Adam Wainwright and catcher Andrew Knizner on the injured checklist forward of Wednesday’s sport in opposition to the Miami Marlins.
Wainwright was positioned on the 15-day injured checklist with a proper shoulder pressure. He was lifted within the fourth inning of Tuesday’s 15-2 loss to Miami after giving up consecutive one-out walks. The 41-year-old Wainwright gave up seven runs, 4 earned, and 7 hits.

Knizner is batting .227 with a career-high 5 house runs and 15 RBIs over 35 video games this season.
Wainwright made his 401st begin Tuesday, tying him with Bob Forsch for second on the Cardinals’ profession checklist. Bob Gibson began 482 video games for the Cardinals throughout his Hall of Fame profession.
Wainwright is 3-4 with a 7.66 ERA over 11 begins this season.
St. Louis recalled catcher Ivan Herrera, right-hander Dakota Hudson and left-hander Zack Thompson from Triple-A Memphis. They will likely be lively for Game 3 of the sequence in opposition to the Marlins on Wednesday evening. Right-hander James Naile was optioned to Memphis.
