Quebec provincial police say a lady was critically injured after the small boat she was driving in collided with a ferry within the St. Lawrence River north of Quebec City.
Police spokeswoman Sgt. Beatrice Dorsainville says the girl was considered one of 4 individuals within the boat, all of whom fell within the water after the collision.
Dorsainville says all 4 had been rescued by the Coast Guard, however two individuals of their 50s suffered accidents.
She says the girl’s life shouldn’t be at risk.
Bruno Verreault, a spokesman for ferry operator the Société des traversiers du Quebec, says the collision occurred because the ferry approached a dock in Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive, Que.
The incident is being investigated by the Transportation Safety Board and Verreault says the ferry firm can even conduct an inside probe.
