Multiple injuries reported after bus, car collide northeast of Quebec City | 24CA News

A collision between a passenger bus and automotive close to Rimouski, Que., on Tuesday has left a number of individuals injured, some significantly.

The Orléans Express bus collided with an oncoming automotive round 5:15 p.m. on route 132, close to Saint-Fabien, Que., about 285 kilometres northeast of Quebec City. There have been about 40 passengers on the bus.

A Sûreté du Québec spokesperson stated the bus was travelling west, the automotive was going east and the affect was so violent that each autos ended up in a ditch. Injuries ranged from mild to severe.

The driver of the automotive, and a passenger, suffered life-threatening accidents.

A spokesperson for the Lower St. Lawrence well being authority, Gilles Turmel, stated a Code Orange was triggered on the Rimouski hospital, as mass casualties have been anticipated to reach.

At least six ambulances have been referred to as to the scene, Turmel stated.

He stated about 20 sufferers have been transported by bus to the hospital with minor accidents. 

Turmel stated that groups on the hospital are all mobilized and there’s room to accommodate everybody.

About 20 different individuals have been transported to the Saint- Fabien area. They will not be injured however are ready for medical examinations and psychosocial assist providers.
