New Calgary program provides M in funding for Indigenous affordable housing – Calgary | 24CA News

The City of Calgary will likely be offering $6 million for Indigenous inexpensive housing initiatives as a part of its new Indigenous Affordable Housing Funding Program (IAHFP).

According to a Monday news launch, the funding goals to extend the provision of inexpensive housing for Indigenous individuals in Calgary. It is a one-time funding program for inexpensive housing initiatives that’s designed for and delivered for Indigenous individuals and owned by Indigenous individuals.

A Statistics Canada examine revealed in May 2022 discovered Indigenous individuals are at an elevated danger for homelessness.
