Lethbridge, Alta., residents are being suggested to be aware of their environment after suspected fentanyl, formed to appear to be a sweet bear, was present in Galt Gardens.
“Disguising fentanyl to look like a piece of candy is a significant safety concern given the potential it could be mistaken for something less deadly,” stated Sgt. Ryan Darroch with the downtown policing unit.
On June 20, a member of the downtown policing unit positioned an unattended bag on the east facet of the park. Inside was a small amount of suspected fentanyl, colored greenish blue in a bear form that police say could possibly be mistaken for sweet. The container holding the bear additionally included suspected fentanyl items in different colors.
