Executive chair Jamie Irving resigns from Postmedia board

Postmedia Network Canada Corp. says Jamie Irving has resigned as govt chair of the media conglomerate’s board.
The proprietor of the National Post and a number of other different regional newspapers says Irving intends to pursue different alternatives.
It provides lead director Peter Sharpe will assume the chair position on an interim foundation efficient instantly.
Irving has sat on the corporate’s board since final yr, when Postmedia acquired Brunswick News Inc., the media arm of the Irving household empire, for $16.1 million in money and shares.
He assumed the chairman position initially of this yr, when Postmedia chairman Paul Godfrey stepped down.
The board change comes after sources informed The Canadian Press in January that the newspaper writer would lay off 11 per cent of its editorial workers.
