Blue Jays reinstate Belt from injured list, option Horwitz to triple-A
The Toronto Blue Jays have reinstated Brandon Belt from the 10-day injured checklist and can have him energetic for Wednesday afternoon’s recreation towards the Miami Marlins.
Belt has been sidelined since June 10 with left hamstring irritation, which he suffered whereas making an attempt to attain from second base. As the 35-year-old arrived at dwelling plate, he reached again and grabbed his left leg.
At the time, Belt was considered one of Toronto’s higher hitters in latest weeks. He is slashing .263/.378/.434 with 4 homers and 16 RBI this season.
To make room for Belt, Spencer Horwitz has been optioned to triple-A Buffalo.
The Blue Jays tackle the Marlins within the third recreation of the collection, with first pitch scheduled for 12:10 p.m. ET / 9:10 a.m. PT on Sportsnet and SN NOW.
