Ottawa, N.S. provide funds for Pictou County Sports Hall of Fame, community facility – Halifax | 24CA News

The Nova Scotia authorities has introduced funding for a brand new facility that can home the Pictou County Sports Hall of Fame.

Ottawa is offering $2.2 million for the ability in Trenton, N.S., whereas the province is investing $1.5 million and the municipality is offering the land.

A news launch says the constructing will embrace new displays highlighting African Nova Scotian and Mi’kmaq athletes who got here from the county in northeastern Nova Scotia.

In addition to the museum, the ability will embrace a group room, a kitchenette and know-how that can present the world with a location for conferences.

The unique Pictou County Sports Hall of Fame opened in 1989 and at present holds about 3,500 artifacts.
