Albies walks it off in 10th as Braves come back to sweep Mets
ATLANTA — Ozzie Albies’ two-out, Tenth-inning homer gave the Braves a three-game sweep with a wild 13-10 win over the Mets on Thursday evening at Truist Park.
Travis d’Arnaud lower the Mets’ result in only one run with a two-run homer within the eighth and Orlando Arcia hit a game-tying homer off David Robertson within the ninth, setting the stage for Albies to drill his game-ending homer off Tommy Hunter.
This sequence finale wasn’t the pitchers’ duel many anticipated it could be. Austin Riley started his four-hit sport with a two-run homer within the first inning towards Justin Verlander, who allowed 5 runs — 4 earned — and 7 hits over simply three innings.
Braves starter Spencer Strider owned a 3-0 lead when he allowed the Mets to assemble a five-run second inning. Brandon Nimmo’s grand slam highlighted the early rebellion towards Strider, who allowed eight runs and eight hits over 4 innings.
