German league chief Borussia Dortmund signed defender Mats Hummels to a one-year contract extension Wednesday forward of a sport which might see the membership finish Bayern Munich’s decade-long title reign.
Hummels’ contract with Dortmund was on account of finish on June 30. The 34-year-old Hummels is now contracted till the top of subsequent season.
“I didn’t make the decision easy for myself. There was a long weighing-up process,” Hummels stated in a membership assertion. “Now, at the end of the season, I can say: I’m still really up for another year.”
Hummels has performed 37 video games for Dortmund this season and has usually captained the group instead of Marco Reus. A win over Mainz on Saturday would carry Dortmund its first German title since 2012.
