Crystal Palace to ban fan after alleged racial abuse of Son Heung-min
LONDON (AP) — Crystal Palace promised Sunday to challenge a membership ban to a spectator who’s alleged to have racially abused Tottenham ahead Son Heung-min throughout a Premier League match between the groups.
Footage has circulated on social media of a person within the away finish at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium making what seems to be a racist gesture towards Son on Saturday.
The incident occurred within the 89th minute of Tottenham’s 1-0 win when Son was changed by substitute Arnaut Danjuma and needed to stroll across the exterior of the sphere, previous Palace’s travelling help.

“We are conscious of a video circulating on-line (in addition to studies made on to us) concerning a person within the away finish at Spurs yesterday, showing to make racist gestures in the direction of Son Heung-min,” Palace mentioned in an announcement.
“Evidence has been shared with the police, and when he is identified, he will face a club ban. We will not tolerate such behavior in our club.”
Tottenham mentioned it was conscious of an allegation of racial abuse towards Son.
“Discrimination of any variety is abhorrent and has no place in society, our recreation and at our membership,” Tottenham mentioned.
“We are working with Met Police and Crystal Palace to investigate and identify the individual involved. We will do everything in our powers to ensure that if found guilty, the individual will receive the strongest possible action — as was the case earlier this season when Son suffered similar racial abuse at Chelsea.”
Son was abused throughout the Chelsea-Tottenham match at Stamford Bridge in August.
Chelsea banned a season-ticket holder indefinitely after footage emerged on social media of a fan within the house finish making a racist gesture. The Crown Prosecution Service issued the supporter with an order banning him from attending dwell soccer matches for 3 years.
