Coach Stellini leaves Tottenham, Mason in charge
LONDON (AP) — Cristian Stellini has left his place as Tottenham interim coach, membership chairman Daniel Levy mentioned on Monday.
Ryan Mason will take over because the coach after what Levy described because the “wholly unacceptable” 6-1 rout by Newcastle on Sunday within the English Premier League.
“It was devastating to see. We can look at many reasons why it happened and whilst myself, the board, the coaches and players must all take collective responsibility, ultimately the responsibility is mine,” Levy mentioned.
Stellini was the assistant of former supervisor Antonio Conte, who left Tottenham by mutual settlement final month.
He managed only one win in 4 video games in cost, with the loss to Newcastle inflicting a significant blow to the membership’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.
“Cristian stepped in at a difficult point in our season and I want to thank him for the professional manner in which he and his coaching staff have conducted themselves during such a challenging time,” Levy mentioned.
