David’s Bridal granted creditor protection in Canada amid bankruptcy hearings in U.S.
TORONTO –
David’s Bridal, the biggest wedding ceremony robe retailer in North America, has filed for chapter safety within the U.S. for the second time in 5 years.
An Ontario courtroom has acknowledged the U.S. case as the principle proceedings, and granted the retailer safety below the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act for its Canadian operations.
The chain has about has about 300 shops and 11,000 staff throughout North America, together with a dozen shops and 500 staff in Canada.
David’s Bridal, which sells wedding ceremony clothes and formal put on, has mentioned it may remove greater than 9,000 jobs within the coming months.
The retailer is seeking to promote the corporate however its shops stay open and it continues to fulfil on-line orders.
James Marcum, CEO of David’s Bridal, says the business continues to be challenged by the post-COVID setting and unsure financial circumstances.
