Trudeau urges caution as calls grow for foreign influence registry – National | 24CA News

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is urging warning within the face of rising requires Canada to undertake a registry to trace international affect efforts.

The prime minister says the federal government wants to seek out higher methods to guard Canadians from international interference.

But he says a stability should be struck to make sure any new measures aren’t too broad and don’t goal sure diaspora teams comparable to Chinese- or Iranian-Canadians.

The Liberal authorities is going through calls to determine a international affect registry in response to stories of alleged interference by the Chinese authorities in current Canadian elections.
