GRCA installing buoys and booms near dams ahead of spring/summer water activities  | 24CA News

Now that the wintery climate is behind us, the Grand River Conservation Authority is putting in warning booms and buoys close to dams.

In a news launch, the GRCA says it’s taking steps to make sure the protection of water fanatics who partake in actions in waterways and reservoirs.

It says the booms and buoys warn paddlers, anglers and boaters to steer clear of dams, which might pose severe hazards that may end up in accidents or loss of life.

The set up of the buoys and booms will happen upstream of GRCA dams between April 17 and April 27, relying on climate situations.

The GRCA urges all water fanatics to heed the warning buoys and booms, and steer clear of the dams.
