Some of your tax credit payments might be delayed, CRA warns. Here’s why – National | 24CA News

Some Canadians haven’t obtained their entitled tax credit score funds as a result of a “technical issue,” in response to the Canada Revenue Agency.

The CRA mentioned the difficulty is affecting payouts of the GST/HST credit score and the Ontario Trillium Benefit to some taxpayers.

The company instructed Global News in an announcement Friday it was conscious of the difficulty and that updates can be posted on its web site.

In a collection of followup tweets on Sunday, the CRA mentioned these experiencing delays who’re signed up for direct deposit by their tax account will begin getting funds as early as April 14, whereas taxpayers who obtain advantages through cheque will begin receiving them within the mail the next week.

“We are in solution mode and are currently working around the clock to issue the payments as quickly as possible to affected Canadians,” learn the tweets, with an apology to taxpayers affected by the difficulty.

The company has not mentioned what number of Canadians could be affected by the issue.

Global News reached out to the CRA for an replace on the difficulty Monday morning however has not heard again.

The federal authorities proposed a top-up for the GST credit score dubbed a “grocery rebate” in its 2023 funds launched in March, although there’s no said timeline for the rollout of the measure, which nonetheless requires approval within the House of Commons.
