New Transportation Rescue Extrication program introduced in Saskatchewan  | 24CA News

A brand new emergency tools coaching program for first responders has formally been launched in Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan Public Safety Minister Christine Tell introduced a brand new tools coaching program for volunteer first responders on Friday.

Students of the Transportation Rescue Extrication (TREX) program will study to make use of auto-extrication tools to rescue occupants injured throughout collisions and severe accidents.

“This program funded by SGI and administered by the public safety ministry, will enhance skills of emergency responders in our province,” Tell stated.

Volunteer firefighters can have the power to undergo this system, as they’re usually the primary to reply to accidents, particularly in rural communities.

“The TREX program is giving more Saskatchewan firefighters the specialized tools and training they need to respond to collisions in their community,” Tell stated.

The program is supported by $5.6 million in funding from Saskatchewan Government Insurance.
