Sarah Ferguson has revealed that she and Princess Diana had been at one level thick as thieves — and presumably companions in (minor) crime.

The Duchess of York, recognized by most as “Fergie,” recounted a narrative this week, saying her bachelorette get together received so wild that it resulted in her and Diana being arrested and put behind a police van.

“It was extraordinary, because we went to a nightclub — of course, you go to a nightclub with the Princess of Wales,” she shared on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

“We sat down, and the waiter came up to us and said, ‘Excuse me, this is a members club. It’s for fun, and we don’t serve police officers here.”

Ferguson informed Clarkson and actor Ike Barinholtz that they confirmed up on the membership disguised as London law enforcement officials to rejoice her upcoming 1986 marriage ceremony to Prince Andrew.

She shared a photograph of them dressed up and searching fairly unrecognizable; Diana is proven sporting a pair of outsized black-frame glasses as the 2 maintain drinks.

“They thought you were real police officers?” Kelly requested, to which Ferguson replied: “Yes!”

When they left the membership that night time, Ferguson stated Diana broke character, which resulted in them each being arrested by close by officers for impersonating the police.

Once behind the police van, each of the royals turned the stones of their engagement rings into their palms so that they wouldn’t be observed. However, Diana was clearly having fun with the mischief and grabbed a pack of smoky bacon potato chips she discovered within the van and commenced consuming them.

“The policeman in the front said, ‘You can’t do that!’ Then eventually they realized that it was Diana and me.”

Ferguson married Prince Andrew after being arrange with him by Diana. The girls had recognized one another since childhood — they had been fourth cousins and their moms had been good buddies.

Once they each married into the Royal Family, the stress of regularly being in contrast with each other put a pressure on their relationship and so they had a falling out that was by no means resolved earlier than Diana’s demise.

“The saddest thing, at the end, we hadn’t spoken for a year,” Ferguson beforehand informed Harper’s Bazaar. “Though I never knew the reason, except that once Diana got something in her head … I tried, wrote letters, thinking whatever happened didn’t matter, let’s sort it out. And I knew she’d come back.

“In fact, the day before she died she rang a friend of mine and said, ‘Where’s Red? I want to talk to her.’”

Ferguson, who’s been doing the press rounds to advertise her new novel, A Most Intriguing Lady, informed Good Morning America that she is aware of the late princess would have made a fantastic grandmother and could be “very proud” of her 5 grandchildren from sons Prince Harry and Prince William.

“I feel we’d have a ‘Granny-Off,’” the Duchess, who is a grandmother to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s youngsters, quipped. “Because she would run faster in the races. I wonder — she’d probably be funnier. No, I think I’d be funnier.”
