Four Muskoka, Ont.-based companies and initiatives are getting a major funding from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario (FedNor) Monday.
The Hon. Patty Hajdu, Minister of Indigenous Services and minister chargeable for FedNor, was on the Muskoka airport Monday morning to announce simply over $2.2 million in funding.
“Today’s announcement of close to $2.2 million will help Muskoka Aircraft Refinishing and Sawdust City Brewing Company expand and give Muskoka Arts and Crafts Incorporate and Muskoka Chautauqua the opportunity to bring in new talent,” stated Hajdu.
The funding introduced will assist create and preserve 92 jobs within the area.
Through FedNor’s core packages and the Government of Canada’s Aerospace Regional Recovery Initiative (ARRI), the investments will assist each Muskoka Aircraft Refinishing and Sawdust City Brewing Company increase and undertake state-of-the-art expertise, improve income and scale back their environmental footprint.
With simply over $1.6 million of the repayable funds, the Muskoka airport will have the ability to increase by 10,000 sq. toes and improve the ceiling top to allow them to service bigger plane, amongst different modifications.

Sawdust City Brewing Company Inc. is receiving repayable funds to the tune of $503,549 to buy new processing tools to extend efficiencies, manufacturing and the shelf lifetime of its craft beers by changing its present canning line.
“We’re thrilled that FedNor is stepping up to help us modernize the brewery so we can expand and meet increased demand. Acquiring new cutting-edge processing equipment will allow us to reduce downtime and waste, while increasing efficiencies, production and the shelf life of our exceptional craft beers, ”stated Natalie Archer, chief working officer of Sawdust City Brewing Company.
Monday’s announcement may even create two new alternatives for younger Canadians to safe employment by serving to Muskoka Arts and Crafts Incorporated and Muskoka Chautauqua rent youth interns for one 12 months.
