Canada may speed up immigration applications from Turkey, Syria after earthquake – National | 24CA News

Immigration Minister Sean Fraser says Canada might fast-track functions to return to Canada from individuals within the earthquake zones of Turkey and Syria.

Two main earthquakes rocked southwestern Turkey and northwestern Syria in a matter of hours on Monday, destroying hundreds of buildings.

The confirmed loss of life toll retains rising, with greater than 19,000 individuals killed and a minimum of one other 64,000 injured.

Tens of hundreds extra are homeless in the course of winter and struggling to entry meals, water and shelter.

Fraser says his division is attempting to grasp the impact on candidates already in Canada’s immigration system to determine what extra could be performed to assist them.
