Harry Kane becomes outright leading scorer for Tottenham with 267th goal
LONDON (AP) — Harry Kane turned Tottenham’s outright all-time main scorer along with his purpose within the 1-0 win over Manchester City within the Premier League on Sunday.
It was the England captain’s 267th purpose for the membership — yet one more than the late Jimmy Greaves, who performed for Tottenham from 1961-70.
“He (Greaves) is a complete hero, one of the best strikers to play the game, so to be in that conversation is special,” Kane stated. “And to overhaul him is a big second for me.”
Kane scored his first purpose for Tottenham in December 2011.
He now has 200 targets within the Premier League, solely the third participant to take action after Alan Shearer (260) and Wayne Rooney (208).
Kane took a name within the locker room after the match from Tottenham supervisor Antonio Conte, who was absent after having his gallbladder eliminated on Wednesday. Conte might be heard telling Kane that he had made him proud.
“Harry Kane, in his DNA, he has soccer,” stated Tottenham assistant coach Cristian Stellini, who was filling in for Conte. “He understands soccer in each second. He can play in any place.
“He is a GOAT (best of all time) on this league, on this sport. He is a good instance.”
