CLARINGTON, Ont. — Ontario Power Generation, GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy, SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. and Aecon Group Inc. are becoming a member of forces to construct a small modular nuclear reactor in Ontario.
The group needs to construct the reactor on the Darlington website, east of Toronto.
Under the settlement, OPG would be the license holder and have general duty for the venture.

GE Hitachi would be the expertise developer, liable for design, procurement of main elements, and engineering and help.
Meanwhile, SNC-Lavalin will present design, engineering and procurement help and Aecon would be the builder.
Construction of the venture is predicted to be full by late 2028.
