Imperial Oil gives OK to $720M renewable diesel project near Edmonton
CALGARY –
Imperial Oil Ltd. says it’s going forward with a $720-million challenge to construct a renewable diesel facility at its Strathcona refinery close to Edmonton.
The challenge, first introduced in August 2021, is anticipated to supply 20,000 barrels per day of renewable diesel as soon as it’s full.
The firm says a good portion of the manufacturing can be despatched to British Columbia to help the province’s plan to decrease carbon emissions.
Imperial says it additionally plans to make use of renewable diesel in operations as a part of its emission discount plans.
