BERLIN –

SAP mentioned Thursday that it’s reducing as much as 3,000 jobs worldwide, or about 2.5 per cent of its workforce, after a pointy drop in income at Europe’s greatest software program firm.

It comes amid a broader wave of job cuts within the know-how trade, together with mass layoffs at Google, Amazon, Microsoft and different tech giants in latest weeks.

SAP introduced its cuts as the corporate mentioned full-year income fell 68% in 2022 in comparison with the earlier 12 months, to 1.71 billion euros ($1.87 billion).

“This was a difficult decision, and we are deeply aware of the personal impact of these changes,” the Germany-based firm mentioned in a press release. “We will provide colleagues the care and support they need during this challenging time.”

SAP mentioned it is usually exploring the sale of business software program supplier Qualtrics 4 years after it bought the corporate.
