Regina woman donates over 1,300 cans of cat food to local humane society – Regina | 24CA News

What initially began as a aim of amassing 101 cans of cat meals for one Saskatchewan girl ended up as a donation of 1,395 cans for the Regina Humane Society.

Bernadette Ripplinger says she got down to accumulate 101 cans of cat meals in honour of what would have been Betty White‘s 101 birthday on Jan. 17, however when folks bought wind of her initiative, the curiosity from the neighborhood took off.

“I like helping out when I can. It makes me feel good,” stated Ripplinger. “I have to be always helping someone out. It’s my mission, my life.”

Ripplinger acquired contributions for greater than 40 donors and spent about $600 shopping for the cat meals with the financial choices she acquired.

“We have an amazing community that would step up and help,” she stated. “I don’t know these people (but they were willing) to trust me enough to send me e-transfers to buy cat food for the humane society to help them out.”

Bill Thorn, Regina Humane Society’s advertising and public relations director, stated they’re grateful for such an unbelievable donation from somebody locally.

Thorn stated the Regina Humane Society has a minimum of 100 cats of their care: some of their constructing and a few with foster households. He stated town has a cat inhabitants downside and plenty of of them undergo their doorways so it’s essential that the Regina Humane Society is ready to take care of them and have meals to feed them.

Thanks to Ripplinger’s drop-off donation, the cats will probably be fed for some time.
