Bolsonaro supporters storm Brazil’s Congress, Supreme Court and presidential palace | 24CA News

Supporters of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro who refuse to just accept his electoral defeat stormed Congress, the Supreme Court and presidential palace within the capital on Sunday, only a week after the inauguration of his leftist rival, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

“This absurd attempt to impose their will by force will not prevail,” Justice Minister Flavio Dino mentioned on his Twitter account. “The government of the Federal District has ensured there will be reinforcements. And the forces at our disposal are at work.”

Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco mentioned he was in everlasting contact with Brasilia’s governor, Ibaneis Rocha, and that the whole police equipment had been mobilized to regulate the scenario.

Bolsonaro, who flew to the United States forward of Lula’s inauguration, has not but condemned or commented on the continuing scenario.
