Southwest Airlines is making an attempt to make vacationers who had been caught in its surge of canceled flights over the vacations really feel a bit higher in regards to the airline by giving them 25,000 frequent-flyer factors.


The airline says the factors are value greater than $300 in flights.


Southwest included the provide in a letter — one other apology for the meltdown — from CEO Bob Jordan.


“I know that no amount of apologies can undo your experience,” Jordan wrote. He added the airline is appearing “with great urgency” to course of refunds, return misplaced baggage and deal with requests for reimbursement of prices incurred by stranded vacationers.


Dallas-based Southwest canceled greater than 15,000 flights between Dec. 22 and Dec. 30, in response to monitoring service FlightAware. The flight disruptions started with a winter storm that swept throughout the nation. Southwest stated folks booked on flights from Dec. 24 to Jan. 2 that had been canceled or “significantly” delayed acquired the 25,000 factors. It has not disclosed what number of passengers had been booked on these flights.
