Two adults and two kids are useless after a late night time three-alarm fireplace in Hamilton on Thursday, officers say.
The Hamilton Fire Department says it acquired a number of calls shortly after 11 p.m. for a construction fireplace at 14 Derby Street, close to Upper Gage Avenue and Rymal Road.
First responders say a centre unit in a row of townhouses was “fully involved” with heavy smoke and fireplace seen from each the back and front of the unit, Fire Chief Dave Cunliffe stated in a launch.
“Crews quickly initiated aggressive interior search and rescue [and] firefighting operations from both the front and rear of the unit,” stated Cunliffe.
Hamilton police say a complete of six folks have been positioned with the unit and transported to hospital, the place two adults and two kids have been pronounced useless. The remaining two folks stay in secure situation, police say.
