Sunwing still working to bring stranded passengers home from Mexico

Sunwing Vacations Inc. says it’s sending out dozens of restoration flights this week to deliver residence passengers stranded in Mexico after winter storms disrupted its operations.

Airline president Len Corrado says in an announcement that the airline continues to “navigate unprecedented operational challenges” and deeply apologizes for the way the delays have affected clients.

The airline says it up to now has 40 restoration flights deliberate this week, with 18 to have been accomplished by the top of Wednesday as they work across the clock to deliver folks residence.

Sunwing says the delays, which started to pile up because it began to cancel flights on Dec. 22 due to winter storms, have been tough to kind out due to displaced crews and airplanes.

Transportation Minister Omar Alghabra mentioned in an announcement Wednesday that the scenario at Sunwing was unacceptable and that airways have to hold passengers knowledgeable.

Sunwing says it’s speaking rescheduled flights as they’re confirmed by flight alert notifications and thru representatives on the bottom.
